Short term project opportunity for Natural Resources Management Specialist
Qualification and skills:
- Master’s Degree (or equivalent qualification) preferably in Natural Resources, Land Resources and/or Biodiversity Management, Engineering, Environmental Studies or a field directly related to the assignment;
- Professional Registration, Project Management Professional certification would be an asset;
- Intermediate knowledge of GIS; and
- High level of proficiency in spoken and written English.
Professional experience:
- At least 5-years project management experience including projects involving environmental monitoring and evaluation and preparation of environmental protection plans and strategies;
- Demonstrated through knowledge and understanding of indicators and standards for ecosystem and biodiversity monitoring and management, and commonly used environmental information database systems;
- Proven experience with quantitative models and data-driven methodologies for environmental monitoring;
- Familiarity with data collection methodologies and technologies for environmental monitoring;
- Particular expertise in climate change adaptation would be considered an advantage;
- Experience in facilitating multi-stakeholder workshops and consultation, and designing and implementing community engagement strategies; and
- Related experience in Small Island Developing States and specific experience in the Caribbean will be considered an advantage.
